Researchers who wish to use Special Collections are required to have an appointment. When someone asks to visit Special Collections:
- Ask if they have an appointment. If they say no, let them know that they will need to make one, and give them Susan’s email address. Only offer her phone number if they cannot use email.
- If the researcher has an appointment, call Susan to confirm it.
- Once Susan confirms the appointment, ask for a photo I.D. Tell them that you will retain this ID during their appointment, and that they can pick it up before they leave.
- Have the patron sign the Special Collections Appointment sheet located in the middle drawer at the circulation desk.
- They can get to Special Collections by walking up the spiral staircase. If the patron cannot climb stairs, call Susan so that she can meet them at the elevator.
