Education: Find Books

A library’s catalog will give you a listing of all the books, journals, and other resources owned by the library.  It will tell you what is available both online and on the shelves.  Be sure to note the location, call number and whether or not the item is checked out.

For specific catalog searches by LC Subject Headings, click the links listed below. Locate additional subject headings in the records of items you locate when you search our catalog.

Search for Children's literature and teen fiction.  All are assigned Lexile reading levels allowing a teacher to select fiction for appropriate reading levels.

Find a book related to your topic. Click on the title, then browse the Subjects links included in the record to “find more like this one”.   Once you click on a Subjects link, you will be taken to a list of all the items in the catalog that share that subject heading. 

Stop by the Education Resource Center in the lower level of the library. You will find a collection of classroom manipulatives, juvenile and young adult literature, and teaching curriculum resources. This collection is designed to serve EDU majors, minors, and students taking EDU courses.
