Library Instruction at Transy: Services

Library Instruction plan and mission statement for Transylvania University

Library Instruction

Through course instruction, librarians teach methods of research, sources of information, evaluation of information, and educational technology tailored to fit the specific research and curricular needs of students in particular courses.

Research Help Desk

Library staff stationed at the service desk provide informal, point of need instruction in the use of general and specific library resources delivered face to face, via phone, email or virtual meetings. For more information or to contact us directly, click here and select the form that aligns with your information need.

One-on-one Research Consultations

Students can make an appointment with a librarian to receive individualized assignment specific assistance.  See our website for contact information or use Make a Research Appointment to schedule a consultation.

Librarian - Faculty Collaboration

Librarians work with subject faculty to design appropriate information literacy instruction beyond the first year level. Together they identify appropriate IL competency needs and outline when and how those IL competencies will be addressed.
