The Transylvania Law Library was sold to a dealer in the early 1980s and was bought by Regent University in 1994.  Up to the point of its being sold, it was housed in the Transylvania Library in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.  Like our medical collection it was heavily used by students in the first half of the 19th century.

Snyder, Christina. Great Crossings : Indians, Settlers, and Slaves in the Age of Jackson. New York, NY: Oxford University Press, 2017.
       The book centers on the community that developed around Choctaw Academy, the first federally-controlled Indian boarding school in the United States, which operated from 1825 to 1848.  Snyder discovered three known students from Choctaw Academy had enrolled at Transylvania and earned their medical or law degrees. She did this by comparing the student rolls.

            We know of three Choctaw Academy students who attended Transylvania and earned their medical or law degrees.
