The library’s 14-item information literacy assessment is given to FYS students as a pre-assessment and to FYRS students as a post-assessment.
The content focuses on: avoiding plagiarism, citing sources, creating research questions, narrowing research topics, evaluating the credibility of sources, and conducting searches in library databases.
The pre-assessment also asks questions regarding previous education on information literacy topics as well as confidence levels on these skills.
